Conclusion of Wine Clique's September 2021 Releases

The yearly September Releases have been finally concluded for this year, where most of the cult and top labels from different wine-producing regions worldwide are offered--mostly in limited allocations--to the market by merchants like us who work very closely with the negociants and wineries.

Similar to last year, Wine Clique is very lucky to have the opportunity to receive and tasted some of the samples of these wines together with the key representatives such as the winemakers and winery owners.

Amongst these labels, we particularly enjoyed Bibi Graetz from Italy. Their 2019 Testamatta is an attractive combination of black fruits and very refined tannins. The 2019 Colore is perfumed with bold red and black fruits- though requires a little bit more time to show its full potential, has met the expectations.

From the land down under, Cloudburst came as a surprise and a discovery for all of us this year. The wines 2018 Malbec and 2019 Chardonnay are the purest and freshest wines one can taste. The 2018 Malbec is carries scents of spiced chocolate and is intense yet elegant while the 2019 Chardonnay is an incredible blend of peaches and apricots with a fleshy streak of toffee and fresh pastries.

Joseph Phelps would be your go to wine to impress, with their cult favourite 2018 Insignia that tastes of blackberry, sweet tobacco and a wonderful savoury finish. We also had the opportunity to taste one of South Africa's best wines, Klein Constantia who has our hearts with its sweet 2018 Vin de Constance- a fresh mix of apricots, vivid character and long velvety finish.

Peter Michael was the talk of our table with their 2018 Au Paradis tasting of bright black fruit and herbaceous to the nose and energetic 2018 Les Pavots reminding us of having ripe black plums whilst seated on the earthy ground.
