Ex-Domaine Offer: Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle 1969 & 1973 (Magnum only)

By now we’re all familiar with Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aine and their reputation for producing some of the best Hermitage La Chapelles that rival Bordeaux first growths, time and time again.

The wines possess superb flavours – full of fruit when young, and grow in complexity with leathery notes as they age. And of course, who can forget the legendary 1961 vintage?

This famed wine was named after the small Chapel of Saint Christopher, located on a hill in the estate that overlooks the Rhone Valley. It was said to be built by a knight who settled there after his crusades, seeking peace. This chapel today is among one of the historic sites in France.

We’re pleased to offer two older vintages of Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aine’s Hermitage La Chapelle today, both in Magnum sizes:
The 1969 at $3,317 and the 1973 at $2,033.

These wines were made when the Jaboulet family still possessed  ownership of the domaine and also whilst Gérard Jaboulet, one of the most famous ambassadors of Rhone Wines was still helming the estate.
