Offer: 2016, 2019 Y d'Yquem (Ygrec Dry)

"Four centuries have shaped the history of Château d'Yquem, marked by the imprint of the Lur-Saluces family. Since 2004, the brilliant director Pierre Lurton presides over the destinies of the estate."

Premier Cru Supérieur, Château d’Yquem was entrusted to Pierre Lurton, a devout viniculture enthusiast who oversees Château Cheval Blanc and Cheval des Andes in Argentina.
Château d’Yquem lies in the Garonne Valley and remains as one of the largest producer of sweet wines in Bordeaux. Out of the winery’s 113 hectares, only 100 hectares are planted with grapes and the rest of the microclimate is left untouched to ensure the quality and excellence of the wine. Organic certification is in the works for the vineyard.
The estate plays with the production of white wine made from leftover bunches, but it wasn't until 1959 that the estate decided to market it as a dry white wine named “Y” (Ygrec in French.)
80% Sémillon vines and 20% Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted in clay soil, adding minerality and complexity to the final blend. Picked at just the right moment when the grapes have reached maximum ripeness before botrytis sets in, the soft tannins of the pinkish Sémillon and juicy Sauvignon Blanc gives Y its pale sunshine colour.
During its 10 months of fermentation, Y receives detailed attention: light, precise pressing, as well as temperature-controlled racking in a specially made vat room designed specifically for this wine.

While having potential to age, Y is also drinkable young, when it is full of citrus and white peaches. Its remarkable richness and balance make it an ideal partner for seafood, rich sauces, and aged cheeses.
Today's exclusive offer features the 2016 and 2019 Y d'Yquem (Ygrec dry). Available for delivery now. Place your orders today by dropping us an email at customerservice@wine-clique.com.

Y d'Yquem 2016:
"Y d'Yquem 2016 has a very delicate nose of lemon peel, fresh green apples and grapefruit with touches of crushed stones, white pepper, dill seed and lime leaves. Medium-bodied, elegant and very refreshing, with great mineral intensity, it has a lingering citrusy finish." - The Wine Advocate, 92+ points.
Y d'Yquem 2019:
"Give this 5 or 10 minutes to open in the glass because it has a pretty serious structure, deftly weighted, full of white pear, quince and apricot pit, balanced by savoury rosemary, straw and fennel notes, successful and totally moreish. A vintage that had the freshness necessary for great white wines in Bordeaux, and Y pulls away from the pack with this wine." - Jane Anson, 97 points.
