Offer: Almaviva 2015

Founded in Chile, Almaviva was the first wine created on the French Château concept in 1997 by prominent wine makers Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro. One exceptional terroir, one exclusive bodega, and one team of technical experts have dedicated years to each other to create the unrivalled quality and excellence of this wine.
Named after French literary hero Count Almaviva in the 1970s, the label also pays homage to Chile's ancestral history by depicting a Mapuche Kultrun, a religious ritual drum.
Over twenty years ago, Puente Alto was initially recognized as the ideal location to grow Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in Chile's central zone, the Maipo Valley. A total of 60 hectares of the highest terrain have been designated for Almaviva exclusively.

The winery has planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot with Cabernet Sauvignon dominating the vineyards. As a result of these distinct varieties, each vintage of Almaviva is unique, working with the best grapes each year to produce the best blend.
Offer: Almaviva 2015
Almaviva's 2015 vintage is a standout vintage, with its opaque, bright red color and powerful, complex nose. The aroma is dominated by ripe black fruits and floral notes, which gives way to notes of caramel, licorice and graphite. With a delicately balanced palate and a fine tannin structure, the finish is silky with some mineral and cocoa, vanilla undertones. A vintage of outstanding complexity and harmony to commemorate Almaviva's twentieth anniversary.

"A glorious and complex nose of tobacco, blackberries and hints of stones and flowers. Hints of bitter chocolate. Full-bodied, very tight and compacted. Linear backbone gives this form and tension. It has the same character on the palate as well as cayenne and other spice. Loved the 2014 but this shows more fine-grained tannins. So balanced and harmonious. A blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Carmenere, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Best to drink 2021 - 2022 but a joy to taste now. *1 Top 100 Wines of 2017*" - James Suckling, 100 points.
