Offer: Château Trotanoy

Château Trotanoy was a neglected winery when Jean-Pierre Moueix purchased it in 1953. Most of the winery's success can be attributed to Jean-Claude Berrouet, who joined the Château as winemaker in 1971 and retired in 2007 after 44 amazing vintages.

On the Right Bank of Bordeaux's Pomerol plateau, the estate now consists of 7.2 hectares of sustainably managed vineyards. Approximately 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc are planted here, and a variety of soil contributes to Château Trotanoy's power and complexity.

Besides a beautiful structure, the wines also possess aromas of black fruit preserves, chocolate, and wild mushrooms. Refined, concentrated and with remarkable ageing potential, these wines are the perfect balance between elegance and boldness. v

Trotanoy 2016 - $444 nett per bottle | WA 99

Offer: Château TrotanoyChâteau Trotanoy   2016

"A structured, powerful wine, the 2016 Château Trotanoy checks in from one of the great sites in Pomerol, a 7-hectare vineyard located on gravelly, black clay soils. This ruby/purple-hued effort gives up a brilliant bouquet of crème de cassis, blackberry and black raspberry fruits intermixed with loads of iron and crushed rock-like minerality, smoke tobacco, and graphite. It's deep, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, with sensational purity of fruit and balance as well as building tannins and structure. It's built for the long haul and needs a solid 7-8 years of bottle age, but it will keep for 3 decades or more." - Jeb Dunnuck, 99 points.
