SPOT OFFER: S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes 2017 (UP TO 30% OFF)

Located in the Preignac commune in Sauternes, Bordeaux, Chateau Suduiraut is well-known for its sweet wines, made largely from Semillion grapes. It earned the coveted Premier Cru classification in 1855

In this feature, we’re highlighting the S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes, particularly its 2017 vintage. The S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes is a dry white wine, made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from some of the estate’s oldest vines. Characterized by its dryness and floral aromas with white fruits, it is also said to be rather intense and mineral on the palate, with a hint of oakiness

Although marked with a generally warm and dry year, the vines for this vintage still experienced a frosty spell in April on two occasions which not only affected Suduiraut, but many wineries in the Bordeaux region as well. Despite occasional unfavourable weather conditions, and early ripening of the grapes, a fine vintage for the S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes was still produced.

There seems to be a unfavourable connotations surrounding the 2017 vintage but we say don’t believe everything you hear about this vintage. Despite the frost, only wineries in certain areas were badly affected and some stood out instead in this difficult harvest, particularly wineries in Sauternes.

Give this underrated 2017 vintage of S de Suduiraut Vieilles Vignes from Chateau Suduiraut a try today, priced at only $48 NETT each when you purchase a minimum of 6 bottles.
