The origins of Château d’Armailhac date back to 1750, where wine was sold under the name of Mouton d’Armailhacq to the d’Armailhacq family. Financial difficulties forced the family to sell the estate to the Ferrand family, who in turn sold it to the young, and soon-to-be famous, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, in 1934.
