Artazu
Wine Clique is the appointed distributor of Artazu Winery.
Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacalle founded Artazu in 2000, in the historical wine region of Navarra. The project started as a request by a friend who wanted to sell a good Spanish Garnacha in his country. And he got it - Artazu was born.
The winery is planted with 100% Garnacha and the average age of the vines are 30 years old with the oldest planted in 1930 located in Santa Cruz. Some of these are pre-phylloxera gems and are used to make the winery's top end wine - Santa Cruz de Artazu. His philosophy in producing wines from single vineyards continues in Artazu. In 2011, another red wine - Pasos de San Martin was added into the portfolio with the purchased of a 12-hectare plot that are planted with 35-year old vines grown on a single slop in San Martin de Unx.
