Cos Estournel, 2ème Cru Classé

Comprising of 91 hectares, Chateau Cos d'Estournel plants an average of 35-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot  (40%) vines that varies from one vintage to another depending on the yearly weather conditions. Also,  only the wines coming from 20 years above has the right to be labeled as Chateau Cos d'Estournel. The chateau practices the manual labor tradition that applies from vine growing, handpicking up to the grape selections. 

The word "Cos" denotes "The hills of Pebbles" which describes  the geological location of the Chateau's vineyard resting on the hill in Gironde between Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, separated from Château Lafite by the stream known as La Jalle du Breuil. 

Chateaus Cos d'Estournel has a long history dating to 1811 and currently, it is under the ownership of Michel Reybier since 2000.
