Fèlsina
Domenico Poggiali acquired Fattoria Fèlsina in 1966 during Tuscany’s Super Tuscan wine revolution. The estate is located in Castelnuovo Berardenga commune in Siena province, south of the historic Chianti Classico and Crete Senesi. With almost 600 acres, 95 of which are vineyards, The Fèlsina estate has all of the terroirs that make Tuscany so famous. Wines that tell history and tradition are at the core of Fattoria Fèlsina’s philosophy: to express the terroir and Tuscan grape varieties.
Chianti wine is produced from these soils, where Sangiovese, the celebrated black grape of Tuscany, grows in perfect conditions for it to produce grand Tuscan wines. With great attention and constant demands, Fattoria Fèlsina strives to produce only wines that show off all the characteristic characteristics of the terroir where they were grown- layers of sandstone, silt, clay, rocky limestone and marine sediments in the soil.
In order to achieve this consistency of elegance and style, different vineyard parcels are selected and their typical characteristics can be found in dried tobacco leaves, spices, liquorice flavors, and wet earthy scents. Vineyards like Fontalloro, Berardenga, and Rancia are located in the historic Chianti Classico area and produce outstanding wines.
A time-honoured Tuscan tradition, along with a wealth of knowledge, Fattoria Fèlsina embodies the Tuscan identity that revolves around Sangiovese.
