Nestled in the heart of Graves, La Mission Haut-Brion and its counterpart Haut-Brion stand opposite each other like twin sisters, each cultivating their unique qualities. Linked by history since 1540, both estates share an exceptional terroir known as Haut-Brion on ancient maps. La Mission Haut-Brion’s vineyard spans 29 hectares, with about 25 hectares planted with red grape varieties and just over 4 hectares with white.
he Dillon family in 1983, La Mission Haut-Brion underwent a significant revival, incorporating advanced techniques to showcase its invaluable terroir while preserving its unique charm and spiritual essence. Year after year, this classified Graves vineyard continues to excel within the Domaine Clarence Dillon's prestigious portfolio.
The 2024 Vintage
2024 was marked by a challenging season, but accompanied by great accuracy and our dedicated teams’ perseverance, the vine produced a crop from which the first juices allow us to perceive wines full of promise.
Tasting notes:
"A beautiful garnet red hue with purple glints. It is powerful, concentrated and complex on the nose. Already very characteristic of this wine! Swirling reveals an array of red and black fruit, with touches of liquorice. It is magnificent! The attack is wide and fleshy. Then the wine develops very charmingly, with smoothness, fullness and incredible taste. This Mission Haut-Brion 2024 is the ideal response given by this terroir, faced with the difficulty of weather conditions during this vintage. Summer without a drop of rain, quite unexpectedly and with a very good outcome, enabled the vines to deal with ripening the grapes!"
