Château Nénin, an outstanding Pomerol
On the eve of the 1997 harvest, Jean-Hubert DELON bought Château Nénin, which had been owned by his cousins, the DESPUJOL family, since 1847. The family began a thorough restructuring of the vineyard and modernisation of the facilities immediately after the purchase.
Château Nénin's Grand Vin comes from the best plots of the estate, 8 hectares of the finest clay and gravel terroirs on the Pomerol plateau. Château Nénin is the expression of a great Pomerol for ageing. It combines power and elegance, complexity and balance, purity and finesse. The gradual increase of Cabernet Franc in the vineyard gives the wine tension, finesse and freshness.
The 2024 vintage
The 2024 vintage demanded patience and precision. A rainy spring followed by a warmer, drier summer made vineyard management complex yet controlled. The Merlots are juicy and deep, carried by great freshness. The Cabernet Francs shine with floral elegance and long-lasting expression. It’s a poised, expressive vintage that stays true to Pomerol’s identity.
