Château Valandraud, a dream came true
Château Valandraud represents the culmination of the passion of wine enthusiasts Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. Founded in 1991, Château Valandraud originated from a modest 0.6 ha vineyard, which was purchased with the couple's entire savings. This small plot, located in the Fongaban Valley near neighbors Pavie Macquin and La Clotte, inspired the estate's name—'Val' from valley and 'Andraud', Murielle's family name, a presence in the Saint Emilion registry since 1459.
Valandraud Blanc, a limited production
Always in pursuit of new challenges, Muriel Andraud and Jean Luc Thunevin decided in 2000 to cultivate white grape varieties adjacent to Château Valandraud’s vineyard. The white vineyard spans 1.5 hectares. The outcome is a work of 'haute couture' winemaking, with no expense spared to produce an exceptional white wine.
The 2024 Vintage by Jean-Luc Thunevin and his team: "A fresh and balanced vintage, despite a capricious climate."
The year 2024, although marked by unstable climatic conditions, allowed us to produce white wines of great finesse, thanks to the rigor and expertise of our viticulture and vinification teams.
The Valandraud blanc stands out for its freshness, balance and great aromatic expressiveness, dominated by citrus aromas. Sauvignon Gris, still predominant in the blend, brings a smoothness that sublimates this vintage, which has all the assets to become a great white vintage.
