Today, the vineyard of Château GAZIN covers an area of 26 hectares in one piece located on the high terrace of the Pomerol terroir; which makes it one of the largest famous growths of the appellation. The vines of Château Gazin are located near prestigious estates such as Pétrus and Château La Fleur-Pétrus.
"The year 2024 was marked by unusual weather patterns, presenting numerous challenges for our winemakers. Yet, thanks to rigorous work and constant vigilance, the grapes were able to reach full maturity under good conditions. This marathon vintage began early, with an intense and prolonged battle against downy mildew. With a precise, environmentally respectful strategy, the highly committed Gazin team rose to the challenge, preserving the health and quality of our soils. Spring was relatively cool. August then brought ideal conditions for grape maturation, particularly with cool nights that helped balance sugar and acidity in the berries.
For Gazin 2024, there was only one goal: preserve the quality of our wine through precision and care. Thanks to the expertise, experience, and dedication of our teams, we are proud to present a 2024 wine that is fresh, balanced, and approachable—a refined, harmonious wine that perfectly expresses our blue clay terroir. Tasting notes:
The 2024 vintage: Deep purple in colour. Delicate black berry fruits on the nose (blueberry and blackberry), together with peony, and a hint of menthol. Beautifully rounded and fleshy on the palate. Well-integrated, fine tannins. The 2024 vintage can be fully appreciated in its youth, though will reveal its potential in 5 - 6 years, and at optimum drinking in 8 - 10 years.
